AD LTC Claims

Summary

Provide leadership and oversight of assigned Long-term Care claims operations, ensuring claims are being administered in compliance with applicable state laws and regulations. Manages teams through recruitment, selection, training, development, motivation, and salary administration of staff. Provides thought leadership on the future state of claims processes and works with other leaders to implement process and technology enhancements to drive efficient, client-centric processes.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the oversight of assigned product line(s) claims operations, ensuring claims are being administered in compliance with applicable state laws and regulations.
    • Responsible for establishing priorities across multiple divisions and allocating resources to align with business needs and achieve performance results.
    • Responsible for ensuring that claim handling is performed within the standards/best practices and administration of claims in accordance with the company's claim philosophy.
    • Responsible for collaborating with other leaders within the department to create the future of claims administration.
    • This includes, identifying and facilitating claim-handling process improvements across the division, technological/digital advancements in claim handling, and related divisional projects.
    • Remains alert to and develops innovative solutions to address the needs of the claims divisions to maximize performance, business results, client, field, and employee experience.
    • Takes the lead in prioritizing resources and projects as required that are in the best interest of the claims department and its responsibility to the claimants and policyholders at large.
    • Responsible for identifying and directing claims handling process improvements and divisional projects through solution implementation.
    • Responsible for the development and growth of our team leads.

Collaborates with departmental leadership to enhance the quality program and training program to improve proficiency and speed to proficiency.

    • Actively participates in departmental/functional projects to drive business results and innovation.


Qualifications

    • College degree in business or related field.
    • Eight to ten years of experience leading teams.
    • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Experience in negotiation and conflict management.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to lead others formally and influence without authority.
    • Ability to practice collective leadership by serving as an effective leader within a leadership team in addition to leading own team.
    • Experience in leading projects.
    • Experience in leading Servicing or Claims operations preferred.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$100,030.00

Pay Range - End:

$185,770.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
