| Summary of Responsibilities: |
|
An exciting opportunity to be part of the daily effort to assure the ATC system is planned in a reliable manner to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. Develop study designs. Interact with a broad-spectrum of ATC employees, customers, stakeholders, and industry experts to identify need drivers and appropriate solutions. Apply mathematical tools such as power flow analysis, voltage stability analysis, dynamic stability analysis, transfer analysis and other power system analyses to transmission system studies. Develop projects that anticipate our customers’ needs. Support studies and projects in regulatory settings. Document and communicate through oral and written media information that supports ATC’s short- and long-term transmission system assessments.

| Essential Responsibilities: |
|
- Develops transmission planning study designs and perform the studies in a team approach coordinating with others within and outside of ATC to support short- and long-term transmission system reinforcements that anticipate the needs of ATC’s Customers and Stakeholders.
- Performs steady-state power flow analysis, voltage stability analysis, dynamic stability analysis, transfer analysis and other power system analyses to assess the ATC transmission system compliance with its Planning Criteria and with related NERC Standards.
- Develop reports and oral presentations to gather information, communicate study results and document decisions with peers, management, customers, and stakeholders of ATC.
- Will develop ability to support studies in regulatory filings up to and including testifying in support of project decisions.
- Creates ATC power flow and dynamics models and contingency files. Contributes to the maintenance of the ATC power flow modeling library. May interface with regional organizations such as MISO and NERC Regional Entities for modeling issues such as data submission and model review.
- May interface with regional and national groups to assist in the development of new processes and procedures related to transmission planning.
- Cross-trains with and provides support to other planning groups and functions as necessary.
- Work in project teams and develop the ability to lead teams.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Reliability Group.

| Minimum Requirements: |
|
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s degree / emphasis in power systems preferred
Experience:
- Knowledge of electric theory, transmission planning concepts and transmission system operations. Ability to use various electric system analysis tools such as power flow and contingency analysis. Well developed written and oral skills for preparing and presenting materials of complex matters in a simplified manner. Experience with Siemens PTI PSS/E and MUST software is preferred.
